This year’s Solent Balliage Christmas Dinner will be held at the excellent The Ship Harbour Hotel, North Street, Chichester which is headed up by multi-award-winning Executive Chef Alex Aitken. Alex is one of the South of England’s most respected chefs and a thirty-year veteran of cooking in the Solent area.

His culinary expertise began on the sea, where he worked as a fisherman, giving him unparalleled knowledge of fish and seafood. He then taught himself to cook, before starting, in 1983, his own highly-acclaimed restaurant, Le Poussin in Brockenhurst. He won his first Michelin Star in 1995, which he subsequently held for 14 years. Alex champions using simple, seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients to produce outstanding fresh food.

This will be my final event as your Bailli and the last I shall be organising so I do hope you are able to attend. Accommodation may be available at the hotel (but book soon) or in the immediate vicinity if that should be desired.
